Do you have rounded shoulders? Here’s an easy exercise to improve your posture and get your shoulder blades back into position.

Interlace hands on top of the head
Pull down on head to engage shoulder blades
Rotate the shoulder blades forward and back (try to ‘punch’ the elbows forward)
This exercise of protraction (extending the shoulder blades) and retraction (pulling the shoulder blades in) is meant to help straighten the spine, connect with your shoulder blades, and help improve posture over time.

Depending on your mobility, you may only be able to punch the elbows forward a little bit. That’s OK—keep working at it and improving. If it’s painful, just try pressing your head down with your hands. This also feels really good at the end of the workday if you hunch over your computer.
